U would have to do x700 fel LLDV vs x700 fel rgb dv8 to see if that’s true.
tNet doblyvision shield
LLDV vs rgb8 Dolby

How're you getting DV to begin with on Tenet? The UHD Disc is HDR10 only.
Movies Everywhere streaming platform.
Vudu,appletv4k once u own the disc u have a digital 4K copy as well.

The maker's of this film never did a DV grade (only HDR10). That means these streaming providers are doing some sort of conversion. That alone makes this comparison suspect to me (never mind that the comparison is being done on the streamed version rather than full BR disc version).

Hey I’m not going to dispute the legitimacy of the streaming providers doblyvision
That’s why I do comparisons & use uhd as source standard quality wise,
There are some movies that only appeared
In doblyvision on streaming platform eg
Eslyium has bin out for the past 3 years or so in doblyvision

This has bin out in doblyvision for years
Official uhd realese in a few weeks
Which I will be able to compare as well.
2012 is another uhd that has bin in doblyvision stream for some time.( soon to be realesed)

Shield plays p7 STDL (mkv or ts) BL and RPU (metadata). It is 100%
FEL is unclear. There is no test patterns to tell for sure.
Probaly new SM UHD Benchmark disk will have one. Will see in Q2'21

But after numerous viewings of "Shuttle scene" in Total Recall I tend to belive Shield just skip FEL and plays BL+RPU only. At least in LLDV mode.
This scene has extremely poorly encoded HDR10 layer and all film grain remains in FEL. So difference BL vs BL+FEL is noticeable.
@ lexyz
What’s the time duration on the shuttle scene?
I would like to try a fel comparison in rgb8 & LLDV for total recall using the x700.

Again, If the studio never released a film in DV then the streaming providers don't actually have a DV version. They are just converting it, so what's the point of comparing something that was never released by the movie studio anyway? And a UHD stream is no comparison to a UHD BR disc/rip.

That’s like saying maldorian, soul web rip dl,
Is a conversion.
5 to 6gigs at that & plays like a uhd some web rips are not far off from the uhd Visually,
bitrate yea, I understand that,
& yes I would like to see the difference in 2012 vs the stream,
Streaming wise there is some great movies on Netflix not on uhd disc, I understand this is about uhd disc, movie shot in 6k 8k 12k cameras then streamed @16mb,14mb,24mb
Looks just as good. Not better yet.
More to your point I have no idea if it’s a conversion vs graded even so I’m still curious about the variety of 1 tittle produce from the masters & eventually it will be all streaming sorry.
A conversion using doblyvision algorithm
Still curious.
There are devices they use in post to view raw hdr in doblyvision using the same algorithm visual as reference.

Could anyone please provide specific instructions for getting Dolby Vision to work on the LG C7 via USB player? I had it working with LG CX using Yosupe's profile 8 conversion tool, now I'm housesitting with a C7 and I can't get anything to work at all including a bunch of random test files I'd downloaded from this thread previously. I also tried the instructions in the very first post but no dice. Anyone have any tips at all? I'm sure I've seen people with success with this TV in previous posts but it's hard to search and find step by step instructions.

I think I have the final webos software version in my region, it's 05.80.55.

LG C7 is able to play mp4 files in dvhe.07.06 (FEL or MEL dual layer DV).
You can play those files from a nas in dlna or from usb.

Here's the method i use to make the mp4 files : https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic ... 820#p76820

That would have been a great option but alas no support for any HD audio format over ARC (only DD 5.1). The processed Joker mp4 scenes indeed work on my E7.

With the 3.21.9 fw CX can play mp4 with dvhe.07.06 MEL single track dual layer, at least with the latest Plex for webos. The dual track files I tested with doesn’t play (continuous buffering). The STDL with profile 7 an FEL either just buffer, or playback starts but the picture is very very dark, like instead of increased brightness it’s inverted and it’s dark instead.

This is why doblyvision streams came before ultra uhd disc back in 2016 streaming providers don’t encode.
Also it’s not fake if we search further .

It worked, thanks a lot! Seems like I just had a bad version of mp4muxer.

I don't know if I'm allowed to ask it.
Since the Oppo UDP-203 (with some russian firmware?) seems to be the only player being able to stream full BD remuxes (FEL with their full 4000nits...) over the network.
I'd like to know the names of the clones.. as the player costs over 1000 euros here..

EDIT: Already found it thanks.
