TENET UHD RB - Failed to open disk

I sent my dump on Tuesday morning to the email address, but not sure if what i sent was correct. I sent: MKB20_v76_Tenet_3D88.tgz to the svq@ email address. (It's a UK disc)

The other folks that have posted which dump they sent all seem to have sent MKB20_v76_Tenet_A470.tgz. The dump from your disc is different.

I sent this one in on Tuesday. Still does not seem to be working.

Can someone confirm when the volume key is available please? I'm more than happy being patient but I'd like to make sure its not just my system not able to retrieve the volume key once it is available. Thanks!

I successfully opened it up in VLC, so the file is good. Scanned it all the way to the end credits. The true test is when we actually watch it tomorrow for movie night. Mind blown. I'm now wondering how fast I can rip a 1080p disc. ha!

@sharpie00 - what version of the disk worked for you (from what country and what retailer/service)? And running MakeMKV v1.15.4 ?

US retail purchased at Walmart is not working for me. Sent the dump a few days ago.

Not ripping for me - says volume key is unknown.

DeUHD can also not read it - getting 0.37 MB/s, and the rip starts with errors right off the back which I can "Ignore All", but I'm not waiting 76 hours to rip this disc....

Either the discs are largely "bad", or perhaps some new scheme is in play that is foiling PC based drives but not stand alone players?

Just got this from Target. Won't rip. I'm assuming it's the same reason as everybody else (says "The volume key is unknown for this disc" and "Failed to open disc"). I won't bother sending in the AACS dump file since others already have.

Question though, because I can't remember: Once this issue is resolved, do I need to do anything to update MakeMKV or does it automatically pull down the key to decrypt?

It should download the latest set of keys.

Interesting that there are so many variants - though does the different filename mean different volume key?

My "amazon" copy produced a different filename than others.

I was able to get it to rip and I confirmed it plays great...this is for the Best Buy version. Originally I was also getting rip errors or system lock ups so I did the following and it worked. Create a encrypted full backup of the disc but make sure to uncheck decrypt the disc before you start..ie leave it as an encrypted backup(this is important and the only way I got this to work) once the backup completes, eject the disc and close makemkv. Now again Open makemkv and choose the location of your saved encrypted backup files and open them. Now create a new save location and run makemkv and it should complete through and give you your final Tenet MKV file....cheers and hope this works for others.

Mine is MKB20_v76_TENET_69AE.tgz. It is the German Version of TENET UHD. Sent it in on Tuesday to svq@makemkv.com. Still can't opening the disc.

I have the same problem. With identical tgz report-ID.
