makemkvcon - Semi-Auto Folder Renaming

Would it be possible to allow makemkvcon to utilise the same options in settings.conf as the GUI in order to allow a default folder, and sub folder based on medium name?
Currently makemkvcon fails if you do not state an output folder; even if it is stated in settings.conf; i.e. :
app_DestinationDir = "/media/df27db8a-ba2c-4b9f-a496-a39b0aa09ea8/Rips/"
app_DestinationType = "2"
This would really help in people trying to simplify any backup / ripping work flow!
