As title says. Same results occur on Windows and Linux (dual boot). The discs work on makemkv proper, and the discs and drive match regions. Do I have to do any special configuration?

vlc lets you choose the region. change it. there's no such thing as a region free bluray player that can play discs without user intervention. It's an impossibility, the only option is to choose the right region for each disc.
