Region Codes

Post by jbanks »

I live in Area code 1 for DVD's. I have purchased an area 2 disk which MKV decoded and now I can read the videos, but as files only. Is there a way to remove the area code or maybe change it.
Thank yoou

You would need playback software that ignores region coding, like MakeMKV does.

Stand-alone players pay attention to region coding, in general. The number of region-free players available is small.

To make a region-free disk, you could use software that will accept MKV files and author/write DVDs. The region coding is part of the disk, not the video.
