makemkvcon beta key expired on WINDOWS

Okay, so I run Windows 11, not linux. There is no settings.conf file that I can locate. The makemkvcon64 reg function gives the following:

Key not found or invalid

Where do I put the beta key? It works just fine in the GUI, so I know the key is valid. I've tried with quotation marks around the key, but no change. The 32-bit version also does the exact same thing.

Update: Not sure why, but re-registering in the GUI fixed it, even though the GUI was working just fine. Weird.
