last weekend i bought a tv show and tried to rip it.
when makemkv opened the disc, it only showed a file of 25 minutes. the box said 5 episodes per disc and some research online said they were almost an hour long.
so i opened it with expert mode (something i just learned to do) and found 2 large files on it, (as seen in picture 1) one split into 4 chapters, the other into 3. ripping these revealed that they were the right episodes. but with a catch: one of the episodes was split in half and placed as the first and last files. ( as seen in pictures 2 and 3) luckly it only appears on the first season.
my question is can i have makemkv put them back together with expert mode?
can i splice seperate files together with expert mode.
Re: can i splice seperate files together with expert mode.

Re: can i splice seperate files together with expert mode.
You can use MKVToolNIXGui to merge two different MKV together.
Re: can i splice seperate files together with expert mode.
i assume thats a seperate tool from make mkv.
ill give it a shot, but i was hoping there was a way for makemkvs manuel mode to do it.

There's not, i think makemkv is supposed to be as easy as peas, click and play sort of speak. MKVToolNix is good, just a little bit bigger than makemkv, you'll get the hand of it soon, and its useful to know that program as well, if you want to do other editions to your video files.

i probobly should have phrased it better. instead of seperate tool, i should have said a program seperate from make mkv.babayaga wrote: ↑Sat Mar 07, 2026 2:48 amThere's not, i think makemkv is supposed to be as easy as peas, click and play sort of speak. currently, im ripping the tv show, putting the halfs it has in a seperate file and labeling them "title name beggining", ect. it seems to be only one episode per disc. and only the first season.
ill look for a program to put them together. the only editing iv ever needed was splitting tv shows apart [i just learned how to use manuel mode recently.] and mkvtool.nix is kinda overwheming to start using. i mean, it took me twenty minutes, 2 google searches and a youtube tutorial just for me to figure out how to split files. and i still wasnt convinced i was doing it right.
thank you.
