Lossy loseless audio?

So I just noticed this, but as I'm ripping my concert dvds, the original files are listed with 1536 bitrate for audio, but the MakeMKV rips are only 1170 despite the FLAC profile being used.

FLAC is more efficient than DTS-HD MA but is still lossless.

For FLAC you can think of the bitrate being shown as the COMPRESSED bitrate, but once uncompressed, since it is lossless, it will be the same as the original.

To my knowledge dvd can't carry DTS-HD MA. Maybe OP is talking about dts. Dts is lossy, so converting dts to FLAC will still be lossy compared to the master-audio where dts was derived from. But lossless compared to the dts track itself, as @Rojma rightly stated.
