Subtitle Struggles

Post by themus »

I have spent the good portion of the morning trying to take a simple Blu-Ray and using MakeMKV include the subtitles. Just cannot get there no matter what settings I use.

I have tried selecting all audio files.
I have tried selecting and unselecting PGS English (forced only)
I have tried setting language preferences to Auto; eng: English.
I have tried just selecting the main file and its corresponding audio.

I have tried opening it in VLC player. I have verified subtitles are turned on.

I have searched the forum for an hour trying the above settings.

I know I can get the subtitles from online, but I'd prefer having them either with the MKV or as an .srt.

I even have CC Extractor installed and it fails to scan any subtitles.

Any more ideas?

If you have Preferences->General, Expert mode checked, you can look at what tracks a title has in the left hand window.

Have you read through Changing names with Expert mode enabled yet? You may have to open the images in a new tab on your browser, depending on your security settings for "mixed content".

Sometimes, a disk doesn't HAVE subtitles.

What Bluray, what tracks, what settings do you use?
