Auto Ripping.

Post by sidhintertrade »

Hi,
Is there any auto ripping feature which enables the unattended ripping of disc to a specific path automatically as the disc is inserted. And ejects the disc after ripping is done.

Thanks.

+1.

A batch rip mode would be great. Nimbie support would be fantastic.

I might be able to implement something like this in BatchMKV.

BatchMKV can use MakeMKV to rip DVDs and Blu-rays, to support this scenario, I would need to add:
  1. Start ripping automatically when a disc is inserted. BatchMKV can be setup to select titles and tracks using various criterias, so since title and track selection would need to be automatic, it would probably be something like 'Auto-rip all titles and tracks' or 'Auto-rip title and track selected by default'.
  2. Auto-eject after ripping finished (simple enough).
Please check out BatchMKV first, then report back if it fits the bill and you're interested in the above additions.

I don't have a Nimbie so that would be quite difficult to implement/test, although I have just requested a SDK/API from Acronova to see what it would entail.

Yeah, push this. I just bought makemkv and this is the only very weird thing. I have to change CD, read it once and then manually set it to rip again. I got a pile of Blurays here on the living room table with a bare drive connected via USB...the Misses is not happy. Please add some sort of auto rip - the time this could be an issue on UHD when there are 2 identical titles with large sizes but I'd still prefer some auto possibility.

I take it you've never ripped a Lionsgate disk... With dozens (if not hundreds) of false titles...
