Hello everyone,
Possibly dumb question. I am using MakeMKV Beta at the moment, I do plan to purchase the software as its a fair price. I have ripped about 150 discs so far and I am getting pretty drained naming the dozens of file names for every disc. Does anyone know if there are ways that the drive or disc can name them for me? If you do respond, please use toddler language as I have about 20 IQ when it comes to this sort of thing.
I am using VLC at the moment. I have a ton of TV Shows that I need to rip and would love to save some time and sanity lol.
Thanks a bunch!

Re: Video File (.mkv) Automatic Naming
The amount of automatic naming depends on your sources. DVDs, not so much. BD and above, more likely, but episode-based disks will still need work.
For season disks, if you name the FIRST file (actually, the disk name), that gets copied to the rest, and you can then edit that quickly. But, it's still a manual process.

I find that https://www.dvdcompare.net/ often has detailed information regarding which episodes on are on a disc. It can be quite helpful sometimes.

He means when you're looking at the tree of titles in MakeMKV, if you edit the very first line at the top, it'll change everything underneath it.JetSetty wrote: ↑Sat May 10, 2025 1:36 amWdym by first file?Woodstock wrote: ↑Thu May 08, 2025 1:13 amThe amount of automatic naming depends on your sources.
