How to get MakeMKV to convert DVD subtitles to .sup (Bluray subtitle format)?

I'm trying to make a custom Bluray disc but the DVD subtitles that MKV converts to aren't compatible with the Bluray spec so I end up having to demux the MakeMKV produced MKVs, convert the subtitles to Bluray .sup format subtitles with another program then remux. That's a lot of extra work.

So is there a way to have MakeMKV convert the DVD subtitles to .sup format in the first place? Can I edit the xml profile to convert to .sup format?

MakeMKV copies. It doesn't convert.

It does indeed convert. When demuxing a DVD I see this in the window:
"CC > Text English (Lossy conversion)". It converts CC subtitles to give both a .sub and .idx file.

Which is still a DVD compatible format. It doesn't convert from a DVD format to a BD format.

Flashing is usually needed for UHD readability (and to enable LibreDrive if not already enabled)

Just a note - Bluray uses PGS graphic format for most subtitles. It's similar to, but not the same as, the VOBSUB format of DVD default subtitle format.

And, as pointed out, MakeMKV doesn't convert graphic subtitle formats, just the closed-caption, text-based format that (some) DVDs have. There ARE a lot of tools for such conversions around, they just aren't MakeMKV.
