I have a 3D bluray remux disc and also 2D bluray version one. So i used makemkv to remux 3D bluray disc to mkv file and did the same with 2D bluray disc.

I knew 3D mkv remux will also contain and could play in 2D version but i wonder the quality of 2D in 3D mkv

if i remux to 2D mkv from 3D mkv, what is different from quality between these two 2D versions? Will they the same quality?

actually i did test on size but the got similar size (if not say they're same size) but i'm not for sure they're the same quality?

The only two I looked at, the 3d and 2d versions were almost the same size, but they were definitely a different encode.

There's no actual "standard" and the bitrates of 2d and core 3d streams. Theoretically 3d bitrate should be lower, but they usually take care of that by removing audio tracks and going without special features.

Either one could be significantly higher than the other, it just depends.
