Chromecast and mkv

Hi,

I've created mkv files (with subtitle) from an iso dvd, works great.
When viewing the mkv file on my chromecast using Videostream it doesn't show the subtitle.
Is it something I did wrong when making the mkv file?

When converting the .mkv to .mp4 with Faasoft Video Converter it does work.

Thanks, Lucas Schansman

Chromecast, in general, only understands text-based subtitles, which is not what you have with BD and DVD rips.

However, some programs that "cast" to Chromecast will deal with the subtitles for you... and essentially mirror the video to the CC, rather than turning it over to the CC for display.
