As of today I cannot use makeMKV anymore, because the beta key has expired. Is there a new key around the corner soon?

As a temporary work around, you can set your system DATE (don't screw around with the time) to a date prior to the expiration (2015-03-24 is probably fine), start MakeMKV, then reset your date to the correct date.

Hopefully Mike will update the key OR release a new version soon... but he has been rather quiet recently.

I have a terrible memory, but in my mind I bought a licence in 2013. I just saved the key somewhere. I was away for a while, and I erased my disk in order to get a brand new clear OSX. My problem is that the licence doesn't work anymore: "the temporary key has expired..." It was something like this: T-oIgK[...]mu

Right now, I am using the one you kindly gave in the previous post.

Any idea how I can fix the problem for good? Do you think I got a proper licence (I mean bought)? I may find the confirmation sent by email, but I can't find it by using CMD+F "makemkv". Is there another keyword I could use to find it? What does appear on the bank account as beneficiary

If you bought a license, you should have an email from makemkv.com or avangate.com with your license key in it. In my case, it was sent to the email address on my PayPal account, because I used PayPal to pay for it. The subject on mine was "MakeMKV".

If you have v1.9.2 installed, the key in it should be good for a couple of more weeks. If you have an earlier version, well... install the latest, because the "work around" would be to back your system date up to when that version was still valid, which could be many months ago.

Glad I wasn't imagining things. I just installed the latest version and it said my license key was expired.

That key does not work. Tried it on 3 different machines.

The backdating of your system one day as a temp workaround does however.

Looking at a message that is almost 6 months old posted by someone other than Mike isn't going to find the key... Just saying....

Mike updated the "free while in beta" message today with a new key. That's the message to check, even though it never changes its date:

This. The new code that says it expires Nov 2015 that was posted says it is expired.

I can't get the current key to work with v.1.9.6 either. I'll try the back date workaround till things clear up.

Having the same issue with the same key. Getting message that temp key has expired and was removed. Entered T-enjldn6xWuxoS7TOUjAWw_PfjImd1QBwqYUWkTjOJktyineQPAVv2WB3t7LzYH2qLn. Re-started it and still get the same message. Also getting an error message that the app is too old. I have uninstalled and installed 1.9.6 numerous times and still get that message. Have also re-booted a couple times. No luck. Can't get the temp workaround to work either.

I got the same problem as everyone else with the new version and key, and I can attest that changing the date of your pc does work. Set mine to the same date, but 2014, and it worked without issue.
