I am not able to upgrade from v1.8.13 to v1.9.0. The installation process says it was successful, but when I open makemkv, it still states it is v1.8.13. I have also tried to manually uninstall v1.8.13 and then run the v1.9.0 installer.

Try using IObit Uninstaller (Google it) to completley remove MakeMKV and then install the new version, if this doesn't work then there's obviously a serious problem with your computer!
