Just 'ripped' a blu-ray but did not get an mkv file.

I get BDMZ, CERTIFICATE, MAKEMKV folders.

I can go and find the largest m2ts file in the STREAM folder and play it but that's not really making an MKV.

Did I miss something?

How do I make an MKV file including all audio commentaries?

Objective is to also re-compress the video so I have an MKV container at a good size with audio stream and subtitle options.

How does one do this?

You must have picked the "Backup" option, rather than "Open the disk". Backup creates a copy of the BD's disk structure, optionally decrypting the data.

There's a really BIG button on the MakeMKV window, looks like a disk in a drive, that will say "Open disk" if you hover the mouse over it. Click that. It will then start an analysis of the tracks on the disk, and give you the option to make MKV files of tracks, and even select which audio and subtitle tracks to save.

I didn't even realise that big image below was a button as it's not grouped with the other menu icons at the top which seems counterintuitive from a UI perspective.

I was able to recompress the backup to a nice size mkv with Handbrake (High Profile) which gave me the exact result I was looking for.
