Your drive fails to read the data with an error that makes no sense to me Is this the only disc that fails? Is there anything special about this particular disc? Do you have any program installed that is related to blu-ray drive in any way?

No, Bangkok Dangerous and Defiance also failed with similar error but I don't have those discs any longer and inadvertently deleted the log files

Not that I know of, the format/construction of the disc looks similar to Land of the Lost but that blu-ray was ripped w/no issues

Do you have any program installed that is related to blu-ray drive in any way?
I also have a program called Pavtube Blu-Ray Ripper for Mac but it's not specific to that drive. I am using a LG WH08LS20 Blu-Ray burner and all the software that came with it is for Windows so it isn't installed as I'm using this burner on a Mac.

So I was able to copy all the files from the blu-ray funny people, after a couple of attempts.

When I try to rip the files I get this error:

you can't just copy files and open the copy, I've asked you to copy in order to see if it is any problem with the disc or drive. you mentioned "attempts", what kind of error was happening when you copied files?

I originally tried copying all the files from the blu-ray to my HD at once and got an error saying some of the files could not be copied. So I copied the files a small group at a time and found one of the .m2ts files couldn't be copied and got an error saying the file couldn't be copied and some of the file can't be read or written.

After a couple of attempts though I was able to copy all the files to my HD.

This is precisely the error that MakeMKV encounters and then fails. It looks very likely that it is a problem with a drive.

After copying the files to my HD, I figured for shits and giggles I'd try one last time to rip the movie and low and behold it worked this time
