I found there is a company named Aimersoft is using Makemkv in their product Blu-ray Ripper, which is a commercial program.

In this folder
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Blu-Ray Ripper\
They copied makemkv, and changed the file names to Blu-ray Decrypter.exe, libdriveio.dll and libmakemkv.dll. All these core files is from Makemkv.

I think they are stealing from Makemkv.

This is unfortunately true. It is a single Chinese company that steals MakeMKV and repackages it under different names - Leavo, Amerisoft, Aunsoft, etcetera. Even the popular "mac blu-ray player" product uses a hacked MakeMKV. Shame, really.

Bunch of cheaters. Sadly I'm not even a little bit surprised, my friend who develops software for converting videos to work on cell phones and tablets has had similarly unpleasant run ins with the same company.

Just makes me all the more eager to recommend MakeMKV to people!

These guys should be penalize. Isn't there a law about this already?

People have been doing this with DVD Shrink for years, so I had to get this info entered in Wikipedia entries about Shrink. Apparently all you can do is name and shame. dvdshrink recoded his tool so as to make it impossible to hide the black preview window which hints people at something being off.

When it comes to the Chinese government the only way to enforce properties like this usually involves some sort of payoff(bribery.)
