I believe you may have to be signed on your system as "administrator"

If you are using Windows 7 or 8, you will have to configure MakeMKV to "Run as Administrator". This is because the hardware access it needs to be able to rip disks is not allowed by these versions of Windows without administrator privileges.
Alternatively, you can add your user to the administrator group, but that has implications if you aren't careful about what things you click on in the online world.
