I have a few widescreen DVDs whose video playback ends up looking compressed from the sides while displaying in widescreen. Independence Day (special/extended edition) and some of the Survivor Heroes vs. Villains discs end up looking that way. It's not a DVD player, TV or computer playback issue/setting, as some of the Survivor discs came out fine and played back normally. I think disc #3 and a few others are like that.

It's created that same effect with every program I've tried, using every file format. Any idea why and how to solve it?
