I have several disks which show multiple 20+ GB titles. Sometimes they are indistinguishable (same audio tracks, chapters, etc). Sometimes one of them has no chapters or has different audio tracks.

I have deduced that this is sometimes done for multi-language titles, where things like the film title or the credits are translated. Other times I have no idea why it is done, and it is not practical to watch "Batman Begins" 3 times trying to figure out what is different.

I have to assume that the variants are assembled from multiple pieces, with only the differences being different.

Is there a way to show a "map" of this or something to indicate what's going on? Even something like "title1 and title2 differ from time 00:12:34 to 00:14:56" would let me play the different MKVs in those time windows to figure out what's up.

The AVS BD Info database is your friend.

Also, on the right side of the screen, when you select a title, it will show you the playlist. If you back the disc up you can play all those files to see what is what.

Is there a link to this database? I can not find anything more than informal postings of BDInfo data...

Is this telling me that the film is literally encoded 3 times, totalling 66 GB of data, plus all the other tracks? That's clearly not true. So how do I tease apart mpls files? That's basically what I am asking for here

I guess I figured it out. For multi-segment titles, the data listed tells me enough that I can go look at individual m2ts streams to see what is different (e.g. Cars2 has a Spanish title sequence).

For Batman Begins, MakeMKV does not tell me anything about the differences between titles. BDinfo showed me that there's a difference on "hidden tracks" for audio and subtitles. It would be nice if I did not have to bounce out to a different too to do that.
