MKV audio only possible?

Dear all,

one question from a beginner: just read in several boards about MakeMKV and what I need as a tool:
I want to extract the DTS HD music quality our of my BluRays and store this quality in MKV files which are using FLAC as music codec.
I do not want to have any video in the MKV file to have a smaller file.

So for me the MKV container would only be the "transporter" for the Hi-Res FLAC data.

Is this possible? If yes how?
At the moment I select only the DTS stream (no video) and the FLAC profile. When pressing the button I get the message: no data selected...

Looking forward to your answers

I suspect that the issue is that MakeMKV is assuming that, since you're using Matroska video format file, you would want the video... :)

You can let MakeMKV create the MKV file, then use tools like mkvmerge to extract just the track(s) you want into your "final" file.

Thanks Woodstock,

wonderful idea!
I used MKVMerge in the past to bring sound and image together so I gave it a try and it worked perfectly!!!
MKV Container is now "small" and still playable...

THX for your help
