Profile parsing error: multiple default profiles found, rename your custom profile

is what I get when I start makeMKV 1.7.8/7.9. MakeMKV dir contains

default.mmcp.xml
flac.mmcp.xml
wdtv.mmcp.xml

the last of which is what I've selected under Advanced. c:\Users\Chetwood\.MakeMKV dir is empty. MakeMKV data directory is
D:\Programme\MakeMKV. So what's the problem?

There should be a "rogue" profile in MakeMKV data directory that is named "default" ( :number ) internally. MakeMKV skips these files. Unfortunately it doesn't print the file name so there is no way to tell what profile is offending. As profile was skipped, the only downside is this error message.

Right, it looks like this:

default.mmcp.xml
<name lang="mogz">:5086</name>

flac.mmcp.xml
<name lang="eng">FLAC</name>

wdtv.mmcp.xml
<name lang="eng">WDTV</name>

I just don't get why MakeMKV is complaining since it's installing/naming these files itself when doing a new install.

BTW, Mike, would be nice of you to check your PMs and to upgrade the forum so it's getting harder for these annoying spammers. Thanks.

Hi All

please let me reanimate this thread because, since several versions of MakeMKV, i have this same issue.

Meanwhile I scanned my complete PC and even the registry but cannot find multiple occurances of the XML files.
Unfortunately I always have this annoying "multiple default profiles found, rename your custom profile" message.
BTW: it's the licenced program version.

Do you have any hints or tips how to solve this issue?

All XLM files looks good, no double content inside.
Before installing the latest version 1.8.13 I deleted the install folder but still the same.

Best regards
Joerg
