Hi

I am complete noob or say new to makemkv and blu ray ripping. Before i get flammed i have searched the forums and cant find anything.

The issue is i bought a Liton ihes112 3 bluray drive which has 12x read speed.
But Makemkv read speed seems to differ.
My first rip was Devil Inside and it ripped at 12x although it did take the rip to reach half way to reach 12x speed.

After that all rips only reach around 5x max, all the way to the end!!
i have checked settings and theres nothing i can change.

BTW i am using the v1.7.8.

quick update : i just tested with One For The Money and this also goes went up to 12x(50M/s) but tested 21 Jump Street and stuck at 5x(20M/s).

Max read speeds can only be achieved at the outer edge of the disc. You'll never get them over the whole surface of the disc. The speeds you are getting now are normal, and nothing to worry about.

ok so i worked it out and ,n my bad on reading the bluray spec correctly

Its single layer bluray @ 12x 50Mb/s and dual layer @ 6X 20Mb/s

nothing is wrong with the drive
