Latest Version Makemkv Doesn't Work

I have downloaded the latest version of Makemkv, but every time I try to use it, it still displays the message that it is an old version?? Any tips on how to overcome this?

Exact same problem. Just installed 1.7.4 and get "This application version is too old..."
