Product Registration

I am getting an error when I go to Help > Registration > Enter registration code. I have typed and copy pasted registration code into the form and get one of two errors. The first is
"Failed to store registration code in settings database"
The second is "Registration code incorrect" or similar.
I uninstalled the program (Mac OS X 10.7.3) and reinstalled. same error. I received a resend of the registration code. same error.
now what?
