Cannot encode MKV files made with MakeMKV with Handbrake

Hi

I've ripped some BD discs with MakeMKV, directly to MKV not M2TS backup.

Some of these will open up fine in Handbrake but for others I get this error:

"Your source may be copy protected, badly mastered or in a format which Handbrake does not support." errors?

The files are fine and can be opened and played with VLC no problems, so I imagine the problem is the protection hasn't been removed?

Anyone have any ideas what is going on?

Thanks

Just realized that the rip that is working ok with Handbrake was made with v.1.6.5. The ones that are not working are made with v.1.6.7

Is there anyway to correct this as I no longer have the media available to re-rip

Thanks

Try remuxing MakeMKV 1.6.7's output with the latest mkvmerge GUI. Or re-rip the discs with MakeMKV 1.7.0.

I use Xvid4PSP 5. It is a bit of a steeper learning curve but it works. Ripbot264 works well too.

Probably too many streams. You could try a nightly build of HandBrake (there's an announcement on the HandBrake forum).

This is a forum for beta testing MakeMKV with purchased commercial media that you have in your possession. Your posts to this thread state that the .MKVs created directly with MakeMKV play properly and you don't possess original discs - Two reasons that your posts to this thread are inappropriate for this forum...
