USING THREE OPTICAL DRIVES IS A PAIN BECAUSE OF AVOIDABLE FRUSTRATING MAKEMKV BEHAVIOR
ONE INSTANCE OF MAKEMKV SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO INTERRUPT ANOTHER INSTANCE!!
I pull in 3 disks at once. MakeMKV's.is so dumb when it comes to dealing with multiple instances.
First of all, if i already have TWO drives, each being used by MakeMKV to pull data off of discs, and i launch a 3rd instance, that third instance seems to be completely UNAWARE of the other TWO instances, and just interrupts those TWO WORKING drives to poll the drives -- this almost always INTERRUPTS and kills those jobs with "Error 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR' occurred while reading '/VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_1.VOB' at offset "
This is SO DUMB!!! I keep losing work and experiencing SETBACKS. Why on earth doesn't each instance of MakeMKV check to see if tne other instances are engaged with drives first. Also, every time i launch an instance it polls ALL THREE DRIVES! I don't want the instance to automatically poll ANYTHING!! This keeps ruining productivity. I want the software to launch, and do NOTHING. I want to select the drive MANUALLY.
This is so frustrating. Imagine trying to ingest 15 years worth of a show with 300+ episodes, and over a hundred special features, and the tasks keep failing because MakeMKV won't stop interfering with itself!
How do i make the instances STOP polling ALL drives at launch??!!
Often when this happens, i cannot get an instance to see a disc again until i QUIT that instance and re-launch it -- but then that interferes with already running instances by stupidly polling ALL drives again -- interrupting running jobs.
This is TERRIBLE.
Make it so when an new instance launches, i can DISABLE AUTOMATIC POLLING, and MANUALLY SELECT a DRIVE/DISC!!!
