dvd-iso plays fine from HD - error when converting to mkv

Hi.

I have an ISO that plays fine in VLC and other players, but I'm not able to make a mkv. The process stops at what I believe is 100% (time remaining is 0:00:00 when the error happens).

Here's the log (I deselct title 2). Could it be some bad info at the very end of the ISO?

MakeMKV v1.6.14 win(x86-release) started
Debug logging enabled, log will be saved as C:\Users\Server1/MakeMKV_log.txt
The program can't find any usable optical drives.
Using direct disc access mode
Title #0 has length of 38 seconds which is less than minimum title length of 120 seconds and was therefore skipped
Title #1 was added (16 cell(s), 1:49:04)
Title #2 was added (1 cell(s), 0:04:33)

Used DVD Fab to create a new ISO with only the needed title, and tried to create a mkv. Same error.

Hi!

DO NOT MOUNT the .ISO image file. Load it DIRECTLY into MakeMKV...

Then just load the original, commercial disc (Blu-ray or DVD) into MakeMKV (No need for the .ISO image file)...

I don't have the original disc, just the image. What I think is strange is that

1) The image plays just fine
2) The error occur after the process has come to 100%

Are anyone able to tell me what these errors mean?

I don't have the original disc, just the image.
Then it's inappropriate to ask questions here about it...

The VOB file is corrupted at the very end. I would blame the bad rip.

Thanks.

The image plays just fine in VLC and I have no problem converting it to h264 using handbrake and dvdfab. If I extract the troublesome title in dvdfab to a new image, this new image still fails in makemkv.

Is it likely that the two other programs have some sort of "failsafing" that forces them to continue when they encounter bad info?

Do not misunderstand me - makedvd is a brilliant tool - I just would like to understand how things work :-)
