Hi all
It's been a while since I've tinkered with Subtitles.
Can anyone please remind me of what software I need and what the process is for extracting a subtitle file and then adding it to another MKV?
This particular mission is because I prefer the German release special edition of Total Recall but it does not have English subtitles. I also have the UK 2008 release which does have subs, so I want to use those add onto the German ripped disc- MKV.
Any help appreciated.
How to extract Subtitle from ripped disc/MKV and then add it to another MKV?

Install MKVToolNix & gMKVExtractGUI.
Use gMKVExtractGUI to extract subtitle track. Use MKVToolNix GUI to add the extracted track to another video.

Hi
Novice question but does this type of multiplexing - using the default settings - retain the original Video and Audio quality... or does it alter it in any way?

With MKVToolNix, video/audio/sub quality stays as they are.
