MakeMKV and $60 payment

I've been using MakeMKV for years on Blu-ray and 4K discs but I haven't used MakeMKV in a couple of years. Yesterday, since I just received the new 4K Superman 2025 disk, I popped it in to rip it. Unfortunately after more than 30 minutes, all I get is a revolving circle that doesn't stop. I don't know what's wrong.
Oddly enough the new online version has the same version number as my original version. I'm not sure how the versions could be the same unless I previous version was automatically updated.
Yesterday I went back to the web site paid $60 + tax for a license. So far, I have not received anything acknowledgment.
Can someone tell me what's going on and how I can successfully rip my latest movie disk?
