I am trying to get a 4K movie to display as UHD where when the 4k tv picks up UHD content, I get a popup right top corner saying HDR.

When I play Horizon 2024 4k disc in VLC and drag VLC from my 1920x1080p monitor to my 4k tv, HDR label is not displayed on my TV and quality looks bad.

Also, Integration is blank. On MakeMKV, to select VLC?

I scrounged the net and cannot find anything how to get this setup to play off my linux mint OS>VLC through MakeMKV as UHD on my 4k tv HDR.

Thanks.

Have you enabled HDR in your settings?
In your Display settings should be a toggle to enable HDR for your connected monitor.
This toggle should show up if your GPU is HDR capable.

It is, it is a RTX 3060TIFE.

But I cannot find anything that says HDR.

Not sure if external links are allowed but I guess HDR will not work (at least with x11) as explained here: https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic. ... 0#p2653116

Ah, thanks. Was gonna check out archlinux "suppose have HDR" but cannot even register with their forums.
I guess they talk in code. lol

Code: Select all

What is the output of "date -u +%V$(uname)|sha384sum|sed 's/\W//g'"?
