I've been using MakeMKV for a while.

I did have a lifetime key some time ago but for the life of my I can't find my account so I've been using the Beta.

Obviously this month it's taking a bit to update the new key for August - but I thought I'd buy a new licence and the PayPro page here seems to be "Temporarily unavailable".

I've checked the PayPro Global site and that's working ( see https://payproglobal.com/ if you want to check for yourselves) so it seems to be a more local issue.

So... is everything ok with MakeMKV? I would be very sad to see it go and I don't mind paying for it but it seems I can't

(Side note, it seems to be quite difficult to actually find a purchase link for this. Is that intentional?)

Nobody's really sure what's going on with Mike, the MakeMKV developer. He has been out of contact for at least a week or so. I hope he's okay. No purchase link is currently available, as PayPro Global is out of pregenerated keys. Right now, we're all just waiting to see what happens next.

I made the purchase through PayPro about a week ago. I emailed asking for an update on receiving the license key this morning. I received a refund from PayPro about 45 mintues after I sent the email. I didn't ask for a refund, I also didn't receive an response email or explanation. Hopefully everything is ok.

Are new "hashed keys" still being added to MakeMKV's internal database?

This is a great question. Is Mike the only person that can make additions to the database? If Mike doesn't do it, does that mean none of the new discs with rip? I wonder if anyone else could be provided with the tool and permissions to update the database in Mike's absence in the future.

It's just supposition, but it could be something legal going on. I hope I'm wrong, but in the past, the AACS LA has taken action against services like this and included their payment processors in the mix.

Even if (god forbid) Mike is unable to continue work on MakeMKV you can use keydb.cfg as an external key base for new discs. In my experience, it's not been *perfect* but it's a very solid and viable alternative. Obviously, I sincerely hope we get everything back up and running though - I just hope Mike's okay!

Yes, echoing thoughts that we hope Mike is ok.

The best work around I've heard so far for immediate functionality is to set your system to a date in July, rip what you need and then reset the date and reboot.

I've done that successfully - less than ideal but a work around.

I hope we can get some good news soon but I'm presuming others more connected to Mike and those in the know will be working on longer term contingencies. All we mere mortals can do is hurry up and wait.
