How can I determine whether a DVD is damaged, or if errors are caused by copy protection

I'm trying to rip a set of DVDs, and for every one of them, I get errors about source files being corrupt or invalid. MekMKV seems to be able to work around whatever the problem is though because the rip completes successfully.

My question is, is there a way to figure out what it did in order to work around the problem? I want to know if I should return these DVDs or not, and don't have time to watch them all.

Thanks

If MakeMKV has trouble reading a spot on a disc it retries up to the limit set in preferences. Sometimes re-reading the same spot allows MakeMKV to get correct data and it continues.

Generally speaking, if MakeMKV produces an output file, then it is correct.
