I have kinda a weird one I guess idk?

I've looked up and know why there are multiple versions of some movies on discs.
Red 2 on bluray has like 160 some odd versions all of varying lengths, it was going to take like 45 hours to do the whole disk before I was paying attention.

I've gone to the same point in some of the versions and they were not at the same point in the film. I checked the language options of them and they all had the same language options. There doesn't seem to be any pattern like its different versions in different language sets. And some of the files are much smaller in GB size.

It's not really imperative that know, I've done some googling but google ain't what it used to be. I was just curious what was going on with this one. I'm sure If I just pick one out at random I'll be fine lol. It would be nice to know why there are so many different lengths though.

cheers.

Basically it is a form of copy protection where they give every possible variation of the cuts of the movie, but only one is actually valid.

Usually it helps to check on the forums to search the name of the movie & see if anyone has figured out which one is correct. There are also some posts here on how to figure out which is the valid version that you want to rip.

The problem is that the forum only lets you search on strings 4 characters long or longer... Guess how many characters in the title "Red"?

Google search will work, with enough to limit you to disks...

RED 2 (from 2013, for DVD)
RED MPLS

There are probably others.
