Can't skip forward or backwards in mplayer for movies created through 1.6.9.

I'm also having trouble playing with 1.6.9 in XBMC. It doesn't load at all. No error messages, it just doesn't play.

1.6.10 decrypted and containered X-Men Origins: Wolverine just fine, but it still somehow produced an invalid MKV container for Gone In 60 Seconds. Both are blu-ray movies and I used MakeMKV directly on the discs themselves. Is there anything I can do to help you, Mike, figure out why MakeMKV created an invalid and hard to seek MKV file of Gone in 60 seconds? the MKV file produced is nearly impossible to seek in mplayer (crashes half the time) and VLC (latest) the track bar jumps around the area where it should be roughly at for the time index.

I upgraded from 1.6.8 to 1.6.10, so I skipped 1.6.9.

I have created several mkv files yesterday using 1.6.9 and the ones which were impossible to seek in mplayer were the ones with TrueHD tracks. If it had DTS-HD track, it worked just fine.

Okey doke now it appears I am having a problem with playback in MKVs generated by 1.6.10.

In 1.6.9 I was having problems getting mediainfo to recognize all of the metadata, but that was simply solved by reverting to 1.6.8 or by remuxing using mkvmerge.

With 1.6.10, all mediainfo is correct but now if I attempt to fast forward manually or by chapter forward it freezes windows media player on windows 7 x64 ultimate. Remuxing with mkvmerge did not even solve the problem. Re-ripping to mkv using 1.6.8 solves the problem. All mkv's created with 1.6.8 or previous are fine.

This was done using "Office Space" blu-ray with video, DTS, and chapter data.

Something is still wrong with 1.6.10, and it is a new bug that was introduced from 1.6.9 to 1.6.10. Because 1.6.9 did not have the playback problem for me.

1.6.10 still has the search issue in mplayer if the movie has TrueHD track. Any search attempt breaks the sound.

What happens if you remux it with MKVMerge?

For me it is broken with a standard lossy DTS track as well.....though I only tested in WMP on windows 7 x64 ultimate.

Re-muxing with mkvmerge did not work. Had to completely re-rip it down with 1.6.8 and now all is well.

1.6.8 is the last working version for me.

You mean broken exactly the same way - sound is gone after seeking?

For me, seeking caused windows media player to crash....just freezes up. No response from program. Whether or not I seek forward using the mouse and the seek bar or advance forward in haali using chapters.....freezes up. The picture doesn't move and the sound goes out.

I'm using haali media splitter and shark 007 codec pack with 64 bit components...windows 7 ultimate x64 is OS. Windows media player 12 x64 is the software I use for playback, along with Windows Media Center.

I went back to 1.6.8, re-ripped the movie to mkv with the same exact video and audio tracks, and now the seek function is restored.
