New to using makemkv here. I have a few movies I have tried to just use the back up disc option on and the end result is the movie is split into multiple files. Is there any way to combine them with makemkv? Thanks!

Well, if you use it to create an MKV, then yes. The disc backup option doesn't make any changes to the disc structure at all. It simply gives you a backup of the original.
