I don't know if it make sense to ask for that in this new topic, by the way, I use the « Linux » version very rarely, so whenever I open it, it ask for the new key and restart...

I have put in my shortcut's this URL : « MakeMKV is free while in beta - www.makemkv.com to copy/paste the key for the current month.

But this time, the key seem to be valid until end of August 2024 without a new one for the September 2024 (current month).

Maybe the licensing model have changed, or is it only a forget ?

The licensing has not changed. Sometimes, the author doesn't update the freebie key for some time. Those of us who bought keys aren't affected, because our keys are permanent.

I've been wanting to try out makemkv since the beginning of September and have been patiently waiting for a new key to be posted I understand having a waiting period to motivate regular users to buy a permanent key but it is frustrating for a new user who wants try the software for the first time.

From what I have heard, the owner is sending keys out manually and there might be a delay. Otherwise it just could be that the purchase site is down at the moment. I would like to purchase but cannot due to the status of the site currently.

Came really close to making the purchase for the permanent key. Glad I read the post first. Will check back in a few days in hopes that this gets sorted out. Does anyone have a permanent key that actually works?

I called the third party place you purchase it with and they said it all went through, and they would email makemkv support but still nothing, checked my CC account and the money was already taken out. so Idk hope i get it soon. i dont understand why it just isnt an automatic thing you make the perchase then you get the key right after purchase.

It's not better yet. I am still miffed. To pay for something, and then receive absolutely zero information is infuriating. I'm sure Mike is a hardworking fella but this is completely unacceptable as far as taking peoples' money goes.

I bought a key on the 2nd and still haven't heard back either. I saw somewhere in this thread that the keys are being sent out manually but if it's not sent over in a day or two I may dispute the charge.
