Is MKV still free?

Tried ripping a Blu-ray and got a message that said evaluation period had expired. I click on HELP tab and it said it was still valid until Sept. '24. Hmm? I went to news & announcements an installed temp key (that says expires in March '24). Didn't help. I totally deleted the program and reinstalled. Same behavior. What's wrong?

The key has been updated to expire at the end of August 2024, not September.
Have you installed that key?
MakeMKV isn't "free", but there is a free key option that expires after 2 months. And the ripping of Bluray (and above) requires that they key be re-entered after 30 days of use, even if it didn't expire.
