Troublesome Discs

Hi all, I'm looking for some help ripping two discs.

First one is Rogue One Blu-Ray. I've cleaned the disc and I'm at a loss. I've ripped 150+ discs without issues. Disc also plays fine in a player. I recently purchased four new UHDs and ripped them fine. Logs attached.

The second disc is UHD Downton Abby A New Era. I've attached an image with the end of the logs. Apologies I don't have the entire log.

Any assistance with these two errors would be very helpful.

When cleaning the discs, make sure to use 91% isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth. Always clean by wiping from edge to edge and not in a circular motion. I have found that doing this process has resolved about 90% of discs that I had trouble ripping. Using other cleaning methods usually made the problem worse.

I also recently found that cleaning the laser in the drive I use to rip, again with 91% isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swap, also solved the problem of ripping several discs that wouldn't rip. Trying multiple drives also sometimes helps (I have two LGs and one Samsung).

Every once in a blue moon I do find a disc that I can't rip no matter what I do. Sometimes I'll use ddrescue to try and get a successful image (again across different drives), but I would say that only works about 50% of the time. If I still can't get a successful rip, I usually contact the manufacturer/studio, tell them I have a bad disc, and they will send me a new disc. In each instance the replacement disc has always ripped, so sometimes there are discs out there that are bad and no matter what you do you won't be able to rip.

Messages like the above generally indicate the drive is having a hard time correctly reading the optical disc. As Rojma has suggested, the standard advice is to gently clean the disc and try again.
