Is it ever coming out of beta?

I've been wanting to purchase keys for years now, but because of the rules I have to work under I simply can not spend money on beta software.

There's got to be a good story behind why MakeMKV has been beta for what - 15 years? Anybody know why?

If the issue is the word "beta", then you've got a problem. A lot of beta software isn't tagged as such because of issues like you have... "I'm not allowed to use BETA software!" So that means you really can't use quite a lot of things that are constantly IN beta, but aren't TAGGED as beta. Like Google/Bing/DuckDuckGo search engines.

My suspicion is that the beta status also potentially keeps the lawyers focussed elsewhere ..
