Hi developers,
Makemkv cannot be opened on macOS 13.4. Can you please notarized app? Thanks.

You can only "notarize" an app by joining Apple's cadre of companies. MakeMKV cannot do that until it stops doing things like ripping disks.

I don't think that's quite true. Undoubtedly Apple would reject MakeMKV from being sold in the Mac App Store. But notarizing the app could be done easily were MakeMKV's authors willing to sign up for an Apple Developer account and pay the $100/year fee.

I haven't updated any of my Macs to macOS 13 yet, though I'd be surprised if it was impossible to run apps that aren't notarized.

Thanks for your input. I remembered Makemkv works on macOS 12. Unless the gatekeeper on macOS 13 changed, there should not be an issue opening Makemkv.

I did a little looking today. MakeMKV 1.17.4 is not signed by an Apple Developer ID nor is it notarized. It is signed in an adhoc way and when you run it the first time on modern macOS it'll give you scary message. If you right-click on MakeMKV in the Applications folder and select open, you should be able to open it. You might have to do this twice.

But I can verify it runs just fine on macOS Ventura (13.4.1) on Apple Silicon.

As a side note, Taccy from Eclectic Light Co. is a handy tool for checking apps notarization status.

Thank you for information. I reinstalled with macOS 12.6.7. MakeMKV works fine. But I run into another problem. I recently purchased Pioneer bed-xd08umb-s drive. MakeMKV cannot open disc. Currently I am running MakeMKV 1.17.4. Where can I download MakeMKV 1.17.3? Please see image, any ideas? Thank you for helping out.
