So I just downloaded and installed makemkv to add my movies to my new plex server. However, I get the error of "Evaluation period has expired. Please purchase..." and the backup fails.

When I check the about it says it expires on 5/31/23 but that the evaluation has expired...

My newbie questions is..... can I not try it out ?

The key within the program file has expired - you need to add the current key (from the message) to the system to get the May expiration.

The author doesn't change the download file just for the key.

Whats crazy is that I had download the key and tried it, but it did not work.
But after I uninstalled & reinstalled from the same install + key it worked.
