Thinking of buying something like this and hooking it up to a PC using a USB to Sata adapter. Will this work to Rip (not 4k) blu rays in MakeMKV?

why wouldn't it? I've ripped with a desktop sata drive attached to a usb/sata cable (with external power). a laptop drive might not need the external power. With that said, have to have the right usb/sata cable. some only work with hard drives.
