Ref MakeMKV v1.15.4 [win(x64-release)]

I have set the 'MakeMKV data directory' in the 'General' tab of preferences to a particular subdirectory in my 'Downloads' folder.
However, the MakeMKV doesn't use it.
After inserting a BluRay disc and scanning it, MakeMKV shows the 'output folder' set to a different place (which I once had set as the data directory; and which happens to be on a different drive).

Bug?

You are mis-understanding the purpose of the data directory.

The directory you set in Preferences->General is the directory where MakeMKV will store certain configuration information that you can set, as well as where the data for decrypting UHD disks is stored.

The default directory where rips are stored is set in Preferences->Video.
