I recently got into this whole MKV thing. Here's my issue if anyone can help. When i use MKVmerge to remove subtitles the output file will not play on my blu ray player, it skips to the next file in the directory. VLC has no problems playing them and my LG plays most MKV files with no issue. Is there something I'm doing wrong in MKVmerge to make my blu ray player not recognize the file? Please help.

Hi, mkvtoolnix (mkvmerge) got a new default 'feature' (header compression/removal) a while back that breaks many hardware players by default. in the 'extra options' tab for every track, set 'compression' to 'none'. It HAS to be 'none', leaving it blank will force default operation and break it. You can change this default behavior of mkvmerge(gui) in the options pane.

When using MakeMKV to create an .MKV from either a DVD or a Blu-ray disc, simply DEselect/UNcheck the subtitle streams you don't want (No need for MKVMerge for this procedure)...
