I have used makemkv before and loved it but after some time I wanted to install it again, but here my problems starts.

When I have installed it is starting but then I get a "error message" : "fatal error program will now exit".

and it is closing.

I am running a win xp home I have also tried this program under windows 7, but get the same error there.

Anyone got a clue why this happens. ?

this happens in both win xp and win 7. you don't need admin rights to run a program just to make changes.

This program is crasing when I click on the program icon it loads up and then it goes 3 sec and then it is crashing.

To begin with, please enable debug log and see if any errors show up there.

Great, now I'm having the same problem. Logged in with admin rights. 1.5.8 is working for me now.

Do you have any antivirus software installed, especially something that you've installed recently?
