Extreme abuse of optical media

This youtube link shows what happens when a perfectly normal optical disk is spun to ridiculous speeds.
I only bring this up because of discussion elsewhere of what can happen inside a drive if you really get the full speed of a drive with a less-than-perfect optical disk. Disks with minor cracking can survive 1x or 2x speeds for that "last rip", but they might just self-disassemble if you insist on spinning them faster.
