You need to find out why MacOS is not telling MakeMKV about the optical disk. With Catalina, "newly installed" versions of programs do not necessarily have the permissions granted to their previous versions.

MakeMKV is asking MacOS, "What optical drives are present?" MacOS is replying with, "There are no optical drives present."
MakeMKV then tells you, "The program can't find any usable optical drives."
This is usually a permissions issue. You can test if it is a hardware issue by having Finder look at the contents of a BD in the drive.
